Advertise on RED (Xiaohongshu)
Discover the core hurdles Western brands face when entering the Chinese market successfully.
Your brand's next best customer is already searching for you on RED.
RED (Xiaohongshu) isn't just another social app — it's where 300+ million Chinese consumers research products, read reviews, and decide what to buy before they ever open Tmall or JD. If your brand isn't there, you're invisible at the exact moment purchase decisions get made.
We help you show up in the right way: authentic, discoverable, and built for how Chinese consumers actually shop.
What we can do for you
Account Setup & Verification

KOL & KOC Partnerships
We identify and manage relationships with key opinion leaders and key opinion consumers who match your brand — not just follower counts, but genuine audience fit.
Content Strategy & Localisation
RED runs on native-feeling content, not repurposed ads. We create and adapt content that reads as authentic to a RED user, not translated marketing copy.

We plan, launch, and optimise paid campaigns to put your content in front of the right audience at scale.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
Clear, regular reporting tied to the metrics that matter — engagement, conversion, and sales attribution back to RED activity.
FAQ
Below are the questions we get asked most when clients are weighing up whether — and how — to get started on RED.
What is RED and why does it matter for China market entry?
RED (Xiaohongshu, also called RedNote) is a Chinese lifestyle and social commerce platform blending user reviews, video, and in-app shopping — it reaches over 300 million monthly active users, with a core demographic of Gen-Z and high-spending young millennials aged 20-35 from first and second-tier cities. Over 70% of active users use the search function daily, making it closer to a shopping search engine than a typical social feed.
Do UK brands need a Chinese legal entity to advertise?
No — RedNote allows overseas entities to register a Professional Account directly without a Chinese subsidiary, using a valid overseas business licence translated into Chinese, a trademark registration certificate, and identification for a responsible person. However, a functioning Juguang ad account (RED's ads platform) can currently only be opened by a Chinese entity — foreign entities cannot run ads through Juguang directly, so most UK brands work through a local agency or operating partner to actually launch paid campaigns.
What account type do we need to set up?
Brands open an Enterprise Store through a Professional Account (as opposed to a Personal Store, which has more restrictions). Foreign companies can open and operate stores without a Chinese legal entity, but must provide business documentation, trademark information, and verification materials.
Can we sell directly in-app, or is RED purely brand awareness?
It's a full-funnel platform — the platform supports integrated shopping with quick transitions from content to product pages, so users don't need to leave the app to purchase.
Is this a one-off setup, or ongoing support?
Both are available. Some brands just need us to get the operational and platform groundwork in place; others want us running the ongoing content, ads, and SEO. We'll scope it around what you actually need rather than a fixed package.
